Durbanville Baptist Church refuses to be an inward-looking social club with no relevance to the community. We have the Good News that the world needs to hear and that is one of the reasons why we are committed to being involved in the schools in the area in a practical and relevant way. We see the schools, both primary and senior, as an awesome opportunity to take the love of Christ out into the world.
We are involve in a number of schools in a variety of way – teaching life skills in some, speaking in assemblies wherever possible, running break time Christian groups, and coming alongside the Christian societies/groups and providing oversight for the student leadership team.
Children and youth spend about 30 hours every week in the class room, and only 5 hours at church – we want to be where they are with the message that will change their lives forever.
