Immediate Areas of Focus: The trustees believe that these are areas where we can make an immediate difference:
Financial Aid to Retired Pastors: Many pastors have served the Lord over many years and through many hardships. Today, some of these pastors are living below the poverty line (mostly from the black and coloured communities). As trustees we believe we can make a difference and we invite you to be part of this.
Baby House and HIV Aids Ministry: We are already involved with the House of Thembiso, Beautiful Gate and Eagles Rest. We would like to increase our involvement. Funding will enable us to do this to great effect. For those that don't know, House of Thembiso is a home for special needs babies whilst Beautiful Gate is an orphanage for children with HIV Aids. Beautiful Gate also do home based care. Eagles Rest is a hospice for adults suffering with HIV/Aids.
Please note that this is only the start. Our country faces many giants and we believe that, in line with our purpose statement, we can go a long way to making a significant difference in the lives of many. Join us in this. We are open to discussing the ideas you may have about how we can minister to the needs of people. Bless us with your ideas so we can be a blessing to others
Tax Deductions:
Donations to The DBC Life Trust qualify as tax deductions in terms of the provisions of section 18A of The Income Tax Act No 58 of 1962 (as amended). Donors are therefore entitled to deduct their donations to The DBC Life Trust from their taxable income. Currently section 18A tax deductions are limited to 5% of the taxpayer's taxable income.
Please note that there are certain donations that we are not allowed to issue a Section 18A receipt for. This is in accordance with the 'Tax Exemption Guide for Public Benefit Organisations in South Africa'. If you are unsure please speak to us before you make your donation.
